El Colegio Camino del Coral de Cartagena fue fundado el 31 de octubre de 1984 con el nombre de Escuela Maternal y Jardín Infantil “Mundo Maravilloso”, En febrero de 1985 inició el primer año lectivo con 64 niños con los niveles de Párvulo, Pre-jardín, Jardín A y Jardín B.

En 1989 se recibió la aprobación para los niveles de Preescolar y Básica Primaria con la Resolución No. 3080.

Completa y aprobada la Básica Primaria, se solicitó la proyección la Básica Secundaria. En diciembre 02 de 1991, mediante Resolución No. 4075 se aprueban los grados 6º. Y 7º.. En 1992 se amplió la cobertura a los grados 8º. Y 9º. y fue aprobada la Básica Secundaria mediante resolución No. 411.

En 1993 se amplió el servicio educativo a la Media Vocacional, para lo cual se solicitó visita de Aprobación de toda la Básica Secundaria y la Media Vocacional, Estos niveles fueron aprobados por cinco años, a través de la Resolución No. 2394 de noviembre de 1993. En el 2001 se recibió una nueva Resolución de Aprobación indefinida, con el número 0394 del 21 de diciembre de 2001.

En noviembre de 2008 el Colegio Camino del Coral de Cartagena y su Directora, Reyna Arminda Pérez Cuello, recibieron el premio a la EXCELENCIA EDUCATIVA, otorgado por la ODAEE.

En la actualidad el colegio cuenta con 400 estudiantes repartidos en los niveles de Preescolar, Básica Primaria y Secundaria y la Media Vocacional. Uno de los objetivos primordiales es buscar la Excelencia Educativa, para lo cual ha implementado un departamento de Idiomas o Lenguas Extranjeras fundamentada en el Marco Común Europeo (MCE). También está enfatizando en las nuevas tecnologías de los sistemas informáticos, capacitando a los docentes en el trabajo con las TICs.

En la parte deportiva se han implementado clases de ajedrez, tenis, taekwondo, fútbol, micro baloncesto y voleibol. En la parte cultural contamos con grupo de gaita, danzas folclóricas y modernas y grupo de teatro.

En junio de 2001 fuimos postulados para recibir el premio IBEROAMERICANO, por la dedicación del colegio a trabajar por los niños con familias disfuncionales, con problemas de aprendizaje y otros desórdenes de personalidad.

En julio de 2011 el colegio fue galardonado con el premio “Empresa Educativa 2011”. Sus directivos, Dra. Reyna Pérez Cuello y Guillermo José Dager Pérez recibieron el título de “Master en Gestión Educativa”, por su compromiso, calidad y constancia para un óptimo sistema de Gestión Empresaria Educativa.

History

The Coral Way International School in Cartagena was founded on October 31, 1984, as the “Wonderful World” Nursery and Kindergarten. In February 1985, the first academic year began with 64 children in the Toddler, Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten A, and Kindergarten B levels.

In 1989, approval was received for the Preschool and Elementary levels with Resolution No. 3080.

Once the Elementary level was completed and approved, the school applied for the addition of the Secondary level. On December 2, 1991, through Resolution No. 4075, grades 6 and 7 were approved. In 1992, grades 8 and 9 were added. The Basic Secondary level was approved by Resolution No. 411.

In 1993, the educational services were expanded to include Vocational High School, for which an approval visit was requested for the entire Basic Secondary and Vocational High School levels. These levels were approved for five years through Resolution No. 2394 of November 1993. In 2001, a new Resolution of Approval indefinitely was received, number 0394, dated December 21, 2001.

In November 2008, Coral Way International School in Cartagena and its Director, Reyna Arminda Pérez Cuello, received the Educational Excellence Award, granted by the ODAEE (Office of Educational Development and Evaluation).

Currently, the school has 400 students enrolled in Preschool, Elementary, Secondary, and Vocational High School levels. One of our primary objectives is to pursue educational excellence, for which we have implemented a Department of Languages ​​or Foreign Languages ​​based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEFR). We are also emphasizing new information technologies, training teachers in the use of ICTs.

In sports, we offer classes in chess, tennis, taekwondo, soccer, futsal, and volleyball. Our cultural program includes a bagpipe group, folk and modern dance groups, and a theater group.

In June 2001, we were nominated for the Ibero-American Award for the school’s dedication to working with children from dysfunctional families, those with learning difficulties, and those with other personality disorders.

In July 2011, the school was awarded the “Educational Enterprise 2011” prize. Its directors, Dr. Reyna Pérez Cuello and Guillermo José Dager Pérez, received the title of “Master in Educational Management” for their commitment, quality and consistency for an optimal Educational Business Management system.
